More about this tour
Meet your licensed local guide next to Orlando's Column at Luža Street, the symbolic heart of the old Dubrovnik Republic, and begin your journey through one of the most remarkable cities in the world. Your first stops take you to the St. Blaise Church, dedicated to the city's beloved patron saint, and along the iconic Stradun, Dubrovnik's main street lined with centuries of history. You'll visit the Large Onofrio's Fountain, an architectural masterpiece that supplied the city with fresh water for centuries, and duck into the Franciscan Monastery to discover one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, still preserved today.
Continuing through the Old Town, you'll pass St. Roko's Church with its centuries-old graffiti hidden in plain sight, and the city's former Orphanage, a testament to the surprisingly advanced social system of the Dubrovnik Republic. A stop at Gundulic Square gives you a taste of everyday local life at the traditional market, before moving on to the Dubrovnik Cathedral, the Rector's Palace and the Sponza Palace, three buildings that defined the political, religious and economic life of the Republic for centuries.
The tour ends at the Dominican Monastery and the impressive Revelin Fortress, part of the iconic town walls that kept Dubrovnik independent for so long. Along the way, you'll also taste some of the city's most beloved local products, including olive oil, arancini and mendule, rounding off a tour that covers Dubrovnik's history, culture and flavours all in one go.
