More about this tour
Zadar's Old Town is one of the most historically rich cities on the Adriatic, and the best way to understand it is through its food. On this 3-hour small-group tour, limited to 12 participants, a local guide takes you on a walk through the heart of the city, stopping at six hand-picked local spots where you'll taste some of the most authentic Dalmatian dishes you can find.
The menu tells a story in itself. You'll try fresh local produce at the market, artisan cheese and olive oil, the iconic pašticada with house wine, fresh seafood, local ice cream and finish with a tasting of Zadar's world-famous maraschino liqueur. Between stops, your guide will explain how centuries of Roman, Venetian, French and Austrian influence left their mark not only on the city's architecture but on what people in Zadar eat and drink today.
While this is first and foremost a food tour, you'll also pass by the Roman Forum, Kalelarga, the People's Square and other key landmarks of the Old Town, getting a genuine feel for the city's history and everyday life. It's the most delicious way to get to know Zadar.
