More about this tour
Starting at 8:30 am in Zagreb, this 11-hour day tour will take you to the capital of Slovenia, the city of Ljubljana, and the most popular Slovenian resort –Lake Bled.
Ljubljana is Slovenia's capital and largest city in the country, as well as one of Europe's greenest and most liveable capitals. In Ljubljana, you will go for the guided city tour to learn more about the city and its history, and to experience the best of it during your 3-hour stay.
Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, is considered to be a yet undiscovered gem of Europe. It is often compared to Prague due to its beautiful architecture, which is a legacy of various historical periods. The buildings are beautifully decorated with different colours and ornaments. There are fountains and statues galore, as well as numerous shops, cafes and restaurants for you to freely explore throughout the safe pedestrian zone around the Ljubljanica River, which runs right through the middle of the city. Another pleasant way to spend a few hours is by visiting the lively outdoor marketplace and enjoying talented street musicians on one of Ljubljanica’s many squares. A mighty medieval castle watchfully rests on a hill above the capital, clearly visible from any point in the city.
You continue your day trip to Bled Island, where you will check out the beautiful and iconic castle, both from the inside and out. Bled is a picturesque place with its bluish-green lake, picture-postcard church on an islet, a medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps and the Karavanke as backdrops. There you will also have some spare time before heading back to Zagreb.
Our suggestion - take a picture of Bled’s graceful swans, traditional Pletna boats, the surrounding hills and their reflection on the surface of the lake, the charming little island with its equally wonderful church and the romantic sunset!
