Day Tour Countryside Cooking Class

Hills around Dubrovnik have historically provided welcomed protection against the conquering armies or bands of pillagers. Today they represent a wonderful opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of Dubrovnik, so-called the “Pearl of the Adriatic” and enjoy the city’s ancient walls and terra cotta rooftops from the outside. During a pleasant panoramic drive, you will head to the top of Mount Srđ where one can enjoy the spectacular views from the surrounding area of Dubrovnik and the nearby island of Lokrum.

Next, we’re moving south of Dubrovnik where the countryside region of Konavle lies, stretched between the tall mountains and deep blue Adriatic Sea. Konavle has played an important role in Dubrovnik’s history as it was the main agricultural area of the once-proud Dubrovnik Republic. You will explore this picturesque region and its delicious local food during a private cooking class in the 16th century-built local country estate. Upon arrival, you will be introduced to the history of the family and hear a few words about the life in Konavle region while enjoying a traditional welcome of homemade liquors and sweets. After that, we are off to collect the ingredients and prepare a bona fide Konavle feast of 3 mouth-watering courses. You will have help from the family dedicated to preserving a piece of history through their culinary practices.
