More about this tour

Get to know the city of Zagreb, check its must-sees and get an insight into the local culture and customs, listening to the stories about Zagreb past and present. What does a day in the life of an average Zagreb citizen look like? What do we do in our spare time? How long does a cup of coffee last? Which traditions have withstood the test of time and which have been newly "invented"? Answers to these and many more questions await on a tour as local as it gets. Don't miss a chance to become a true Purger (Zagreb local).

The tour starts every day at 10 am at the Ban Josip Jelacic Square, from where you go on a stroll around Zagreb traditions and customs known only to a true local. Alongside with history and culture the tour introduces the everyday life in the past and today. A tram ride through the center takes you to the National Theatre of Croatia, one of the monumental sights.
Learn the history of theatre while admiring the view at the square. Just around the corner is the most popular rebel street from the communist times. Continue to the place where Saturday mornings are reserved for the ones that like to see and be seen. If it is Saturday watch out for paparazzi! After a cake specialty in the best confectionery in the city take a ride with the famously short Zagreb funicular.

A stroll through the Old Town is ideal to enjoy some views and stumble upon many sights including the iconic St. Mark's Church. In the Stone Gate learn about the miracle of Zagreb and many customs connected to it. Crossing the Bloody Bridge one enters the Bar Street where both locals and tourists relax with a cup of coffee while the city moves in front of them. Soon the Dolac green market awaits with its sounds and colors.

To learn more of the local religious traditions guests are taken to the largest church in Croatia - the Zagreb Cathedral. The tour finishes on the Ban Jelačić Square near the Manduševac Fountain with the legend every local knows best - how Zagreb got its name. In the end, there is a local souvenir for every guest....or have they become Zagreb locals already?
