More about this tour
Free Spirit Walking Tour is the best way to experience Pula, relive its history, and feel the pulse of a modern city. Our licensed guides will take you on a stroll through the oldest streets of Pula, visiting all the main sights while combining historical facts with the everyday life of an ancient city. The tour takes you to both, old and modern Pula.
You will see the 2 thousand years old Roman temple of Augustus, walk through the Triumphal Arch, and stroll alongside ancient city walls while passing through the popular local cafe street. While walking the streets of Pula you will find out why Pula is a melting point of so many different, cultures, historical rulers, architectural styles, and languages during a complicated 3000 years of history.
Listening to the stories of your local guide, you will learn that at one point Pula was the second biggest and richest city in Croatia and that was "a place to be" during the 100 years of prosperity during the Austrian regime. You will see the landmark of the city - the Roman amphitheatre, and get a glimpse of what it meant to be a gladiator. At the end of the tour, you will feel like you know Pula by heart, ready to explore everything the city has to offer.
